Owing to the extremely low installation height, these clamping magnets are preferably using in the handling area. The magnet, which is active when switched on, allows holding the ferromagnetic workpieces. Steel surfaces of the adhesion side must be completely covered by the workpiece in order to achieve the nominal adhesion force.
Clamping magnets consist of an electromagnetic adhesion system. Relevant accident prevention regulations must be adhered to depending on the area of application. For devices of protection class 1, the user must ensure a protective conductor connection as per VDE 0100 § 6.

The maximum adhesion forces are specified for St 37 and refer to the optimum workpiece thickness with an air gap of ∂L = 0 mm and 100% allocation of the adhesion surface. The values are listed for 90% rated voltage and warm operational status (approximately 60 °C excess temperature without additional heat dissipation). If other conditions form the basis of an application case, the nominal adhesion force is reduced (see technical instructions, section 10). For safety reasons, a safety factor must be used for calculation depending on the application case. The tabular values of rated power represent maximum values for determining the electrical accessories and are based on 20 °C exciter winding temperature at rated voltage (VDE 0580 / 10.70 § 9.1). During operation, the rated power reduces depending on the percentage switch-on duration. Clamping magnets are fixed from front using cylindrical screws.
