Clamping electro-magnets allow holding of ferromagnetic workpieces. Their usage can be especially advantageous in the fixture construction, production and for economical handling of small and large mass-produced parts. Steel surfaces of the adhesion side must be completely covered by the workpiece in order to achieve the nominal adhesion force.
The maximum retention forces FH are specified for St 37 and refer to the optimum workpiece density with an air gap
∂L = 0 mm and 100% allocation of the adhesion surface at 90% of the rated voltage and low operating volume (approximately 70 K excess temperature without additional heat dissipation). If other conditions form the basis of an application case, the retention force is reduced.
