The type C devices are suitable for holding parts with levelled surfaces, while the type D can be used for parts with uneven or rough surfaces. Steel surfaces of the adhesion side must be completely covered by the workpiece in order to achieve the nominal adhesion force.
The electromagnetic adhesion rods are direct current adhesion systems. The magnet, which is active when switched on, allows holding the ferromagnetic workpieces. Threaded holes for fixing are provided at the bottom side of the device. The electric connection is established using 2 connection screws that are located inside the device and are easily accessible. Furthermore, a Pg-socket is provided for attaching a non-tension cable. This socket can be screwed either laterally or at the bottom. When working with electromagnetic adhesion rods, relevant accident prevention regulations must be adhered to depending on the area of application.

The tabular values of rated power represent maximum values for determining the electrical accessories and are based on 20 °C exciter winding temperature at rated voltage (VDE 0580 / 10.70 § 9.1). During operation, the rated power reduces depending on the percentage switch-on duration. The pole pitch and its influence on the working mechanism are described in technical instructions. The maximum adhesion forces FH are specified for St 37 and refer a plate thickness of > 8 mm for type C and > 10 mm for type D.
